I am afraid that only the Holy Spirit is going to be able to break thru to many of these people; and honestly, I don't think even the Holy Spirit will be able to reach some of them since they are so "Christianized" that they would just right it off to Satan.

You make such a good point, and it's so true. I love the word "Christianized" too because it's exactly what they've become. So many have forgotten the relationship with Christ, and instead have taken up that relationship with religion. Oh to see their faces on that day!

If their looks arent enough, they may also need a change of pants before all is said and done. But who's to say one side is completely right and the other side is completely wrong? I think both sides could be right, really.

I was recently talking to a friend and we were talking about the idea that the straight world seeing us "act as normal people" still may not necessarily gain us acceptance. My friend argued that no matter how "normal" we are we are still different and many segments of society may never still accept us. What do you all think?

That's what they said about black people, jewish people, etc. Open minds do wonders.

Bigots are bigots because they're bigots. Conformity will not appease them. Having said that, I don't think we should be anything but ourselves. Normal is simply being authentic. If they don't accept us, they can take a hike. Yep, the pastor said it.

I just believe that we don't accomplish anything by trying to conform. The only thing we should be conforming to is the image of Christ. Outside of that, we need to just be ourselves and leave them to feel how they're gonna feel; because odds are, their disgust is so deep-seated that it's not going to matter how many changes we go through short of being "delivered". They're still not going to truly accept us. At best, they'll just tolerate us. (And I'm talking about the general antigay Christian population, not all Christians or all straight people. Heck, I'm not even talking about the entire antigay population... only the general antigay population.)

This really resonated with me. I think it's a very true statement. It truly has become more about the religion versus an actual commitment and relationship with Christ.

I again believe there has to be more Gay Christians open in media. I am happy however, even as this thread as aged to see even more coming out and FINALLY being recognized by mainstream media. The recent Larry King Live interview with Jeniffer Knapp was a great example. We are no longer being seen as "godless queers".
