A prayer request and a bit of honesty.

Hey everyone, I'm new here but not new to the Lord. I've been in the church all my life but just a few years ago decided to REALLY and truly give it all up for God. Recently I've been doing a lot of praying about my future and the woman that the Lord has for me. He has already revealed to me who she is but my struggle comes with being patient and also not being anxious. It says in the word to be anxious for nothing and in all things through prayer and supplication bring your requests before the Lord. So my prayer request is that the Lord will bring us together and that I will have the strength and will power to keep the commitment that I made to God of not having sex with her until we're married. Now I'm not one of those people who doesn't like sex and just doesn't care, i'm more the opposite and this is my  great sacrifice to the Lord and to her... so please lift me up in prayer. Thank you.

I love honesty. I like sex too, so I understand exactly where you are coming from. I will be praying for BOTH of you. Pray for her too, as I'm sure you already are, that in this time of waiting and preparation that God is keeping and protecting her. That He's perfecting His perfect will within her so that when you guys do come together you can enjoy a life full of happiness that God planned for you.

I'm curious. How did God show you your wife? I've never really prayed that prayer yet as I am just accepting affirming theology. (Spent so many years praying for GOD to take the gay away.) I know I do not have the gift of celibacy and I would love to get married. I certainly want it to be to the one GOD wants me to have.

Will be keeping you in prayer. I also appreciate and respect your desire to remain abstinent until you're married. We need more of that in the Church, and in the gay Christian community. Kudos!

But to answer your question the Lord gives me dreams a lot - I guess you could call them prophetic dreams where I dream about spiritual things and then they happen, so I had a few dreams about her and then she showed up in my life. I prayed specifically for what I wanted, right down to what she looked like and the Lord gave me what I wanted. I prayed the Lord would give me someone who was on fire for Him as much as I and who could help me raise my family. For someone who is just accepting the affirming "theology" as you might call it - I simply call it accepting the fact that Christ loves you for you - --- It might be good to know I never prayed for God to send me a wife, or a woman... I simply said "someone" God sent a woman - I didn't go looking.
