Sometimes you just wonder...

Postby TotallyTransparent » July 15th, 2010, 12:04 am

Sometimes you know you just wonder where God is going to use you.. Like what is it that you were called to do. I have been feeling the call of God on my life for a while and just not sure how to go about doing what I feel I am called to do. I feel like I am called to do some type of ministry work that deals with the addictions that i have had in my life as well as just testifying to His glory in my life etc. I just am not sure how to get any of it off the ground besides starting a website and just going from there. Any suggestions?

Prayer. I know it sounds like the basic of all things but pray until you can't pray no more. If God has truly called you, and you know that better than we do, than He will prepare you and prepare the way. In the mean time, it's up to you to pray this thing out.

Pray and ask God for direction, for advice. Prepare. Study and educate yourself. Addictions are so prevalent and so damaging to so many people and there is lots of information our there that you need to arm yourself with.

Most importantly, and I say this to everyone, make sure you are called. It's one thing to want to do good or feel like you can change the world because God has done something amazing in your life, but if God truly hasn't called you to the task, and you are only acting out on your own will to right the world or to help people, you might actually do more harm than good.

I second what Sozo said, and I'd also suggest seeking pastoral guidance. If you're a member of a local church, talk to your pastor and seek counsel. Even if you are called, you want to move in the right timing; and there are certainly degrees of equipping for ministry that your pastor can and should develop in you prior to your stepping out...

Eph. 4:11-12 wrote:And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, [12] to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ
