I have got to go to some of Pride events this year around my area as well as have kept up with some of the Pride's around the nation. I have noticed that there has been a move, at least in people's mentality away and against the overt sexuality and/or gaudiness of the past. In fact, when I went to Nashville Pride, there were at least 6 churches represented there...compared to only 3 clubs! Has anyone else recently seen this move or is this just my personal observation?
I don't go to Pride events, I don't like them. So, I haven't noticed if this is a trend. I pray that it is, because imho, Pride events do more harm than good.
The Pride events I went to were actually pretty good, although it was way to hot outside! In Nashville, there were actually over 6 churches represented in their Pride. In New York, I understand there were dozens!
Some where amazing. Sometimes we tend to think that people of faith are all against gay people, but each year Jerusalem has a huge Pride event. Also Tel Aviv had one of the biggest Pride Parades with half a million people! Wow, if we get our religious queue from the Holy Land, they are quite ahead of us!
Ive not been to a Pride Event, but I have been invited a couple of times. Usually I don't have the money, but I have the time OR I have the money, but don't have the time OR I have neither time nor money to go. Such is life. I need to look up Pride events and see if there are any within a few hours of here.
Only an ocean could know the weight of the world on my shoulders.
